AUSTIN HATCHER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES “HIGHWAY TO HELP” CAMPAIGN WITH AC/DC’S BRIAN JOHNSON

Chattanooga, TN (November 10, 2011): On Saturday, the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer announced a new partnership with AC/CD lead singer Brian Johnson, Chattanooga-based Fifty Plus Racing, Predator Performance and Allegra Motorsports to present “Highway to Help,” a program that aims to raise one million dollars to support families affected by pediatric cancer.

The program is designed to coincide with the 50th anniversary running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 28-29. There, Johnson, an avid car and racing enthusiast, will compete as part of the Fifty Plus Racing team. Other members of the team include Chattanooga businessman Byron DeFoor, former Rolex 24 overall winners Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Jim Pace, and former Rolex 24 class winner Carlos DeQuesada.

Throughout the race, fans will be encouraged to text “2232” to 501501 to donate $10 to the Austin Hatcher Foundation. Through a partnership with Clear Channel and Chattanooga’s Rock 105, the program will also include a 24-hour radio campaign, with public service announcements airing nationally and a live DJ promoting the event.

“This is real, this is going to happen, and we’re all happy to have the opportunity to do this,” said Johnson at the Saturday night announcement. “AC/DC fans all over the world are now rooting for the Austin Hatcher Foundation.”

Fans can begin participating in the one million dollar Highway to Help campaign today by texting “2232” to 501501 or by making a donation of any amount at www.hatcherfoundation.org/highwaytohelp
